CBDT Extends Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme 2024 Deadline For Concessional Tax From 31St Decmber 2024 To 31 January 2025

The CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes) has extended the deadline for the Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme 2024 by one month, now set for January 31, 2025, instead of the previous deadline of December 31, 2024. This extension was communicated through Circular No. 20/2024, which aims to provide taxpayers with more time to settle their tax disputes under the scheme.

The Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme is a one-time dispute resolution scheme that allows taxpayers to resolve pending direct tax disputes by paying a reduced amount, typically without interest or penalties, based on the nature of the case. The extension of the deadline ensures that taxpayers can take advantage of this concessional tax resolution option before the revised cutoff date of January 31, 2025.

For detailed information, taxpayers can refer to Circular No. 20/2024 issued by the CBDT.
